picnik

Picnic is a free program used for manipulating and resizing photos. This program is easy to use and is fun and engaging. This tool would be great for students when they are organizing self esteem programs in grade 7, or in the lower grades where students write about themselves and attach a photo.

  1. Hey Amanda, I love what you have done with your picture. Picnik is such a fun tool to have at our disposal. Unfortuantly, I think I spent a little to much time manipulating my pictures. I like your idea about using Picnik as a self-esteem building tool. It is a great way for students to see themselves in a different light.

  2. Hi Amanda,
Thanks for the tip I will add picnik to my list of useful websites to use in the classroom. I can see the benefit of including a personal picture in a digital profile that students create themselves. While many students are all too happy to take pictures of themselves to be published, there remains those students who are not as confident. Uploading a photo was easy to accomplish and being able to manipulate it is great fun. This proves to be an effective learning tool as the knowledge can be synthesized into new ideas.
